    Hello !

I have T61 (TP: 7663-A21) running Vista business, i found this on Lenovo support http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-59650.html
Which tells you how to do password protect your folders, but i am not able to do so also no option of encrypt comes when i rightclick the folder.

How do i get this to work ?
Has anyone try this or uses this ?

    Help!!

    Thanks

What version of the Client Security Software do you have installed? What version of the Fingerprint Software? Did your fingerprints enroll OK? Are you saying your system fails at Step 8 of the Lenovo support instructions which you linked? What have you tried so far?

Version of the Client Security Software is : 8.0.0311.00

Version of the Fingerprint Software : 5.6.2.3650

I use my fingerprint to log on to vista, i am not able to get ahead of step 2

STEP 2: In the Microsoft Windows control panel, open Embedded Security Subsystem

There is no embedded security subsystem in my control panel, through i have enable the enhanced security in client security software.

OK, I don't know the exact answer, but there are some things I do know. I used CSS on Windows XP for a while, and the fingerprint folder encryption worked. I uninstalled it as I eventually found the whole CSS package cumbersome for my little laptop (I just have a "performance dog" X41), and resorted to TrueCrypt. Here are some things I remember and some which I just found which may or may not help:

    * There was some confusion caused when the actual name of the control panel changed from "IBM Embedded Security System" to "Lenovo Embedded Security System".
    * The first time I upgraded CSS, it was completely messed up until I completely uninstalled and reinstalled it.
    * I think the settings may have completely migrated from the control panel to the ThinkVantage CSS application.
    * I tried to find the User Guide for the latest CSS but it seems that it is embedded in the applications help menus. Have you had a rummage around in there?

Maybe someone using CSS on Vista can chime in and help?

I have the same config in my X61, same problem following the steps though I am trying to use it with web sites, but somewhere in a help menu I did see instructions for using fingerprints with files... wasn't interested in using it with files, so can't say exactly where. Any leads to literature explaining use with web sites or how to change settings for individual sites would be appreciated.
