    Hey guys,

I just replaced my T400 and got another one..it was fine but I decided to upgrade the bios to the latest one using the lenovo software.. after the upgrade the hissing noise starting to show.. and that was the reason why I returned my other laptop before.. is there a way where I can go back to the previous bios?

You can just flash it with an older version as expected. The Lenovo Support site should list all of the BIOSes available.

Personally, I'd keep the latest BIOS and use RMClock to undervolt. This gets you:
    a) Less heat
    b) More battery life
    c) More performance (indirectly, by preventing throttling, and at no loss of performance otherwise)
    d) Greater control over CPU frequency changes
