I'm trying to determine whether Lenovo sells a Windows 8.1 system recovery product, for example a set of DVDs equivalent to the System Recovery CD that used to come with a new PC (yeah, I'm ancient and can remember this.).

    Here are the system specs:

Lenovo 2014. Machine type 90C2 Product Family Lenovo H30-00 Hard Drive 500G Ram 4G OS Windows 8.1.

I have not found such a product by searching, although probably I'm not searching correctly.

    Thanks for any help.

KLF, thanks very much for the reply and link.

Unfortunately, the customer (I'm trying to help my father, remotely) is located in the US, so the recovery media product is not an option.

Yes, it seems very odd that Lenovo does not sell this product in the US.

I have tried helping my father create a 'system recovery drive', but he is having problems that I am unable to diagnose and fix remotely.

Looks like we're out of luck, and maybe should avoid buying Lenovo in the future due to problems with the US-based product set.

Your father can call Lenovo in the U.S. and they'll sell him a recovery set - presuming it's a fairly recent system - for something like $45+tax+S&H

You should be able to make a set of recover discs right from the notebook.

    Thanks for the reply.

This seems to contradict the information at the link that KLF gave me, doesn't it? Do you happen to know of any official verbiage online that says that lenovo sells a recover set in the US?

    Thanks again.

I agree that my father should be able to make a set, but please see my comment on that topic in Response #3.

Thanks for the reply, by the way.

KLF is in Europe, I'm in the U.S. and different rules apply.

1-800-426-7378 is the number that you need to call and follow the prompts.

I've purchased a number of recovery disk sets for ThinkPads over the past decade, never for any other Lenovo product so YMMV.

You will need the machine's model number and serial.

    Good luck.

Why don't they have an online method to purchase the discs? I went looking for x220 tablet recovery discs a while back, but couldn't find anything.

I have never worked for either IBM or Lenovo so I can't answer that question with any degree of competence...

You're very welcome. Please post back the results of your quest for recovery media once you get to know where you stand.

Second glance at that list, I guess it's service for those countries where Lenovo doesn't have some kind of online shop/system to sell discs.
