I am considering a T60. I know they are top of the line.
I am not a business person nor do I plan to be, but I do a lot of travelling and would like to be mobile with the computer. My primary computer hobbies involve photo editing, video and music production, web design, and other multi-media tasks. How does the T60 perform in these fields?
A few more questions, if you will...
Is the screen worthy?
How are the built-in speakers?
What makes the T series so good?
How does it compare to Apple in terms of value per dollar?
Thanks a lot.

It will perform quite well there, if configured correctly.
The 15 inch IPS (FlexView) screen is stunning.
The speakers are probably its worst feature.
The extraordinary build quality, practically clean install of Windows (which leads to greater speed), built-in system tools, and IBM/Lenovo's excellent support make the T series so great.
For me, the T series is a better value. People have been having a lot of trouble with the Macbook Pro's. -
The 14" matte screens are average. The 15" FlexViews the best matte screens you'll find, but at 15" are less portable.
The speakers are OK. Like with all notebooks I would suggest a decent pair of headphones.
The best build quality and support which is hard to qualify and quantify in the specs.
Some people really dig Macs. It is hard for me to answer this question for you. The MacBook is a really different notebook the T60. Perhaps the Asus W7j or Fujitsu s7110 is a better comparison. I personally I am not a huge Mac fan so I probably choose the others. Perhaps you should consider the FAQ and post back. Good Luck. -
Don't forget about security. The Thinkpads have excellent hardware security. If you get a T60, make sure you get the fingerprint reader. With fingerprint readers, your female mistress and/or homosexual lovers can and will always remain safe and secure.
With a properly configured T series, the most your notebook will be is an expensive paper weight to intruders and/or thieves.
