I called Lenovo today and I told them I would like to specify the part number of the LG screen for my W500 order.
They connected me to someone with an American accent, and I was told that they are unable to specify the part number and that I will just get whatever they will have in stock.

Did anyone successfully request a specific part number LCD panel? Or does Lenovo not do this?

This is the only situation where I've seen them allowing a request. So if you get a Samsung and it really looks horrible then you might give that a try.

I don't think the reps have the ability to give you a specific version of a part. They can just order the part and you get what's in stock.

Yeah... I called 2 times and they said they could not give me the serial number of any part of the computer until it is fully builted :(....

That was after I asked if I could request the LG panel and not the Samsung... they put what they have in stock. Just hope that all the samsumg are gone! :p
