    I have two T43s: a 14" and a 15"
All specs are the same, except 15" has a 7200RPS HDD and FlexView.

Would anyone have any idea as to why the CPU temp on the 15" is consistentily about 10 degrees higher than on the 14" under exact same power settings and environmental conditions?

    I'm baffled...

Thanks in advance for any theories...

Well, the 7200RPM probably contributes to the heat...but I don't think 10 degrees celsius is reasonable

Do you find the wristrests to be particularly hot? If not, then the sensor may just be malfunctioning.
Another reason may be the nature of the hard drive: are the two hard drives from different manufacturers? That may be something to consider...

Oh I'm sorry, I misread the original post and though he said HDD temp  Silly me...

The hard drive heat still applies... becausethe 7200RPM drive produces more heat, it will spread throughout the chassis and may influence the CPU.

However, the CPU could also be from different batches... therefore running at different heat thresholds. Some CPUs just run cooler than others.

Or it could be the thermal compound that's found on the CPUs... maybe they were applied differently or are contacting the CPU in a different way.

Or, like I said earlier, a faulty sensor.

It does produce more heat, but I would think it is not as noticeable in the 15" cause it is thicker.
