    CPU-Z is only showing 1 Processor and 1 core and 1 thread. Is this normal for the dual core sandy bridge i5-2540 cpu ?

    Nope, on my T420 I7 2620m, it shows two cores and 4 threads.

    The core speed changes as well shown in below.

    Bios shows that multi processor Enabled but does not show cores as my desktop system does in the bios

    What if anything could be wrong ?

    Turbo is set to Enable Power is Maxed out, no battery saving setting so I do not understand the issue if any

    Had to reinstall windows by using thinkvantage. Once I reinstalled windows ( took only about 20 minutes tops ) everything looked good.

    Did not have the time to wait for a response nor wait until Monday for tech support call.
