Have TP T43 and the CD/DVD drive has worked perfectly for months. For some inexplicable reason, the drive stopped working yesterday and will not read a CD through XP. Under device manager, I see the yellow exclamation mark- the details show "Code 41". Thus far I have uninstalled/reinstalled the driver but that has not helped. I ran diagnostics (not through XP) and the drive worked perfectly. I called Customer Support and all they could tell me was to do a clean install of XP. Surely there is another solution? Help?
