Hi,
I am a user of Thinkpad T400. The machine came with 2G turbo memory, but I cannot enable it in the 'Intel Turbo Memory Console', any advice?
Have checked BIOS, AHCI mode selected.
Latest driver from Intel installed, but still cannot enable any of the two, any suggestions?
Thank you

My suggestion is leave it off. Turbomemory can in some situations make your computer perform even poorer (like if you have 4GB of memory and SSD). Drivers are still not up to par yet.

How many times have you restarted? I think it takes a few restarts to enable ReadyDrive and ReadyBoost.

I agree, leave it off. I'm amazed that people keep buying Intel Turbo Memory when there is no evidence it does anything (except for machines with small amounts of memory, in which case buy more memory - why waste money on Turbo Memory?).

Hey guys, I didn't order it, but the school's model couldn't be customized. So, now I have it in my T400, no matter it boosts system or not, I should be able to use it, right?
But still cannot.. Any suggestions to make it working?
Thank you ! -
I have no specific advice for you, except to read this:
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel/showdoc.aspx?i=3009&p=3
Basically, reboot often "with extended periods of idle time between reboots". Also, "By no means should you check or uncheck either of these boxes".
As for Turbo Memory having no effect or even a negative effect on system performance - I haven't seen a single review of Vista SP1 or the latest round of Turbo Memory systems. AnandTech found some benefit pre-SP1: "Based on our usage, we'd expect to conservatively see 5 - 10% increases in battery life on average for normal usage". -
Most people would gain close to nothing in performance, but some people might find it useful on read heavy applications like multi-level video games or complex applications. For now it looks like the main (only practical?) benefit is in application load times. Once applications are loaded into ram, turbo memory won't do too much.
