I'm in Switzerland at the moment (and originally from Argentina). I've had to buy a universal plug adapter for a ThinkPad T 61 I bought back in November. Now, when checking the battery, I've found a message that says that I have connected a "an incorrect CA adapter 65 W". Is this serious? If so, what should I do? At the moment, the laptop is working properly and the battery temperature is 35 C.

I think all the Lenovo power adapters are 90 Watt (at least all the machines i use are) Thats why you are getting the error. Not sure if you will have performance problems, the power is converted to DC anyway and probably will not pull all 90W from the brick.

Thanks for your answer. I just wanted to make sure that the laptop won't be damaged.

So will te battery charge even though it is diffrent watts?
-
not exactly sure. in a pinch i used lower wattage adapters before but would not recommend it. Usually you can get a universal from a local electronics store. Tagus, Kensington, Igo, among others make them. Lenovo has a nice slim power brick that will fit these laptops now, I recommend using the proper AC adapter.

That's the only unversal plug adapter they sell here, because it is made in Swiss. The battery has charged all right so far.

If it's only a PLUG adapter you got (i.e. making the prongs on your original AC adapter fit to the country's sockets), then you have nothing to worry about since you're still using your original AC adapter. I have a T61 with integrated graphics and I got the 65 watt adapter, which works just fine.
