    Hey

I am going to university in October and therefore i need a new notebook. After a lot of searching i found that the T400 is somewhat the ideal model for me and so i decided to buy it ;) .

The problem is: the T400 isn't yet avivable in Europe / Germany. On the other hand Lenovo doesn't have a internet shop in europe where you can customize your product like at www.shop.lenovo.com .
(they only have an internet presence that links to retail sellers that sell pre customized models)

Therefore i had the idea to buy the Notebook at www.shop.lenovo.com.
    Now i have some questions ;) .

What about the shipping times? Does anybody know what i have to expect?
What about the warranty? Do i have to send the notebook back the the US if it breaks down?
And last but not least: Can I use the german custemor service?

If you're talking about buying a T400 from Lenovo's US site and getting it shipped overseas, it's not going to happen.

There are a few US retailers which do ship overseas, like Euclid Computers. eBay where some sellers ship overseas is another option.

I would suggest if you're going to get a notebook here getting one with international warranty service. Some machines do have it by machine type. This way you'll be covered in Germany if there's an issue. At a minimum they'd make you ship it back to get it fixed. Those machines tend to be more expensive. I don't know if you'll be saving much.

Also make sure the specific country where you may require service is explicitly listed for the model you purchase.

Is there a list of T400s that have IWS when purchased in the US?

Or is it only by trial and error using this link...
