I've run into several deals with the Xseries (x200, 200s, 301) that bring down prices by at least $4-500 on these models. Does anyone have advice on whether I should buy now or wait until early/late Oct? These are contractor-based deals, or the American Express Daily. Some factors I'm thinking are driving Lenovo to dump these models now:
1) Windows 7 coming out in late Oct
2) Supposedly x310 or some other upgraded models coming in January 2010
I would prefer to wait until after Oct 22 to get a machine with pre-installed Windows 7 (just a hassle to wait for the disk, re-install, deal with errors, etc), but if the deals won't last I may as well get it now. Any thoughts?

The leaked Lenovo roadmap doesn't show the X301 receiving a refresh with the other Thinkpad models in January.

I meant the upgraded version of the X200/200s series. Rumor has it that it may be coming out as the X210 or X310... Since these are rumors I can't really verify, but by most accounts the X200 line is due for an upgrade soon. It makes sense since Lenovo has been dumping x200 models in the last few months; prices have dropped drastically.
Any thoughts on whether to buy now or later? I need a computer by late Oct at the latest. -
If you need a computer in a month just get it now. Too hard to time it otherwise. There will be deals past the release of the new refreshes, there is always stock left over. But if you need it so soon just get it now so you can make sure everything is up to par.
Buy x series now or in Oct? will deals last?
