    Hello everyone~ I've been browsing lately to see what kind of laptop I should get, and wanted to ask a direct question...

    I've decided to buy the T61 Thinkpads after some thinking...but was wondering whether I should buy right now or wait a little longer. I am going to be a college freshman in september and I leave for school on the 31st. The only reason I'm waiting is because I hear Lenovo will be having some big sale soon...but I'm not too sure. Saving even a few bucks will be nice considering I'm on a budget.

    Here's what I'm planning to get:

    Thinkpad T61 15 Wide 6465CTO:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 (2.0GHz 800MHz 4MBL2)
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    15.4 WXGA TFT
    Intel GMA X3100 GM965 w/ WWAN

    That comes out to $1409, which comes $9 over my budget but that's okay.

    I will be using the laptop for standard college uses, engineering programs, and light gaming possibly.

    Any changes/suggestions/when should I buy?

    why buy now when you you will have to wait 3 months to actually get Lenovo to ship it.

    Find some reseller that has it in stock or wait until Lenovo pulls their head out of their communist butts and fixes their fulfillment system.

    Anything else is an exercise in futility and frustration.

    why don't you get a 512mb or 1gb stick intstead of getting 2gb ram .

    you can always find rams for a lower price at newegg frys and etc

    Look into the dell vostro, you might save a few hundred getting the same thing.

    you can keep waiting for the price to drop, or you can buy now and probably enjoy the computer much sooner.

    you could wait 2,6,9 months or even years, no matter what you do, you will never be ahead of technology. Get it now and enjoy.

    Just get it when you need it. Because if you don't need it, you can just watch it get cheaper and better. When you need it, then you have no choice.
