I planing to buy an ultra portable in the next month. my main issue is with the new line of x's that should appear soon.

I know that you should not wait for new models, but it seems that this time the models will have various options that are appealing like WiMax and DisplayPort.

I think that buying a laptop now with these features will be very usefull in 1-2 years time.

What do you think? should I buy or should I wait?

If you need then buy. If not then wait. That's kind of the general guidance. Do you think you'll use WiMax or the display port?

Not in the immediate time frame no, because there are almost no displayport screens or wimax networks.

But within a one year time frame I think that things will change, and adding a video port or a wimax connection to your laptop, is not something possible.

If you anticipate that you will use these features in the future and don't require a laptop right away then I would wait for the new x's to come out. You will also pay a premium for having the latest and greatest but that is to be expected. Also something to consider is that the new x's will be widescreen and if you prefer a 4:3 aspect ratio, you will not be able to get one anymore.
