Buy X60 Tablet now or wait?

I am going back to school starting in September, so I want to buy a lenovo tablet before the end of august. It seems like Lenovo is updating all of their notebooks and that the X60 Tablet update will not be far off. But there seem to be a lot of good discounts available right now. Should I wait for the new tablet and hope that similar discounts will be made available at that time? Or should I take advantage of this sale and buy what is probably going to be a slower and poorer performing computer than what will be available not too far from now?

I have no inside information on upcoming lenovo updates. It is pure speculation.

There will be a comparable upcoming sale according to SkiBunny who is an IBM employee.

 

The X61 and X61 Tablet is right around the corner. If you need it by the end of August, buy it at the end of August. You'll be able to research the most about different laptops AND you'll have a wider array of selection to choose from.

 

Yeah, might as well wait for the X61.

Shouldn't he also be able to use his education discount with Lenovo as well?

 

i was in a similar boat as you but unfortunately, had to pull the trigger now on a laptop since my classes start in mid-august. i'd be moving and changing addresses and if i were to get an x61, the order would likely take a month to process/ship...so i would be out of luck it seems if i were to order in time for the july 4th sale.

but if i were you, i would just wait seeing as how you have more time than me.

 

Well, next week is the announce for the x61 so might as well wait to see what that has to offer.
