Buy T61 now or wait?

I've been thinking about purchasing a T61 14" model for some time now but not sure if I should wait. Lenovo is having a 25% off sale now but some of the stuff (bigger batteries, etc.) are out of stock.

Has some of the issues when the T61 was released been addressed? I tried for the past 2 weeks to get on the outlet deals but no way in hell that is going to happen (always out of stock). I'm just worried they are going to have a Black Friday sale or Christmas sale after I buy and before it gets to my door (3-4 weeks estimated time now for delivery).

 

Personally, I'd probably go for it now. There's always going to be a sale "right around the corner," and the availability is going to get worse as the holidays approach. As for problems, I guess that depends on the lot. I know some people have had issues but I’ve had mine for while now with no problems.

 

I agree you should get it. Most all the problems are fixed or have a fix for them

 

I think you should order now. I just did. The key component shortages at this time is the DVD writer and the 7 cell for a T61 14 (non P). In fact I had a configed system in a saved cart and the price actually went up by $32. Darn it. My ESD is 1/8! and its due to the battery. The DVD delay seems to be 3 to 4 weeks. I refuse to buy 2 batteries so will wait.

 

I bought two batteries, and let me tell you I am regretting it. Not sure if I should sell the 6 cell battery, but I never use the thing. It has never been charged once. That being said I did order both, and I got it super quick like 3 days.
