Please correct me if I'm wrong. I remember before that there is a feature in the Thinkvantage utilities that allow a Thinkpad user to "communicate" or "message" another Thinkpad user.

Is there really such a feature in Thinkpads? Or was I just imagining? hehe

It's part of the ThinkVantage Access Connections software. One types a passphrase to join a Peer to Peer community to chat and send information, and others with ThinkVantage Access Connections nearby can join the community by typing the passphrase. Although I haven't used this feature before, I speculate that it is using an existing communication protocal and creating an ad hoc Wi-Fi network. If that's the case then this feature won't be limited to just ThinkPads, anyone equipped with wireless networking cards and with the right software can join the community.

I just checked Access Connections and yes, what you mention is in there. What other 3rd party software offers it? Or does Windows have a built in feature for it?
