I've owned a T400 for about 9 months now, and it's still in top condition.

Skipping all the details about my personal life... I jumped out of a car that was going approx. 20 miles an hour tonight, and landed straight on the laptop.

It was in my backpack...which just has a generic laptop slit. I hit the ground pretty hard and am very lucky I put my hands behind my head.

Anyway, I'm typing away on the the beast now, and it's working totally fine.

Thanks for saving my back, Lenovo!

    1. Why were you bailing out of a moving car?

    2. Pics/vids or it didn't happen: do a video like one of those classic 2002 "Legends of ThinkPad".

I'd like to question why you pulled such a stunt in the first place, but the important thing is that you (and your laptop) aren't hurt ;)

To 1 the op already explained it to the fullest they were willing, personal details aside as said. My guess, they had a reason they wanted out of the car and the person driving wouldnt stop.

Wouldnt have been the first time i jumped out but I would have slid dropped the the bag and taken my chances, computer first you know lol.

I probably would have used the computer as a cudgel and beat the guy in the head until he stopped, but different strokes for different folks.

Glad to hear you and the ThinkPad are alright.

With due respect, scr** the Thinkpad. You can replace that. Your ThinkHead, on the other hand... . Congrats for getting away with the most important stuff intact. The laptop is icing on the cake. :)

Saronic: Glad you're okay. It's so very easy suffer a fatal head injury at even as seemingly slow a speed as that.

For the others -- Saronic already implied he or she didn't wish to get into the details of his/her personal life. The polite thing to do is to respect that wish and not ask. Knowing or not knowing really won't affect anyone's life.

Glad to know that you and your laptop are okay. The person(s) driving probably wanted Saronic's data in his laptop but it was encrypted and he wouldn't give up the contents. So they were planning to take him to their secret lair to torture him, but Saronic managed to free himself and his ThinkPad.

    Stay on topic please.
Relevance of why Saronic had to bail out of a car is not the topic here, otherwise it would have been explained on the first place.

Dont ask any more questions on that matter please, nor speculate why Saronic did so.

It is glad to hear that you are ok! And no losses happened.
So, Lenovo does keep up with the ThinkPad legend of durability, great to hear that!

Why Saronic had to bail out of a moving car at 20mph is relevant to my interests. :p

Again, thanks for all the wishes of wellness. Lew, I definitely wont try that again, thank you. I must now go into hiding, because wolssiloa is obviously tracking my movements.
