The screen brightness is set to maximum, by it's lower than when plugin in.

Very annoying when we are outside !

    thanks !

I can't comment on what Lenovo is using for power management (my machine arrived defective and Lenvo now has the POS) but the Sony had this under power management. Seperate settings for screen brightness on AC and Battery.

Go into power management and dig around, you should be able to find it.

Then leave. You don't have a Lenovo, and you contribute no helpful or reliable information to this forum.

As to the OP, the first reply you got was correct. The BIOS setting "overwrites" what Power Options does. Startup/restart, hit F1. Should be something about brightness under Display I believe, set it to High rather than Normal.

Yes, as the other 2 posters stated you can change the max brightness level when on battery in the BIOS.

As for MonsterMaxx: Didn't he get banned? I am sure I saw a thread where he had been banned. How does one get "unbanned"? By promising the moderators not to call people names and use foul language?

Thank you everyone, with a new power scheme it's not working and digging with the power management was useless, I will try the bios, thanks everyone ! :D

You can go in the BIOS, or launch the program "ThinkPad Configuration" under the ThinkVantage folder in your start menu. From there you can dynamically adjust the "Normal" or "Extra" brightness when on battery.
