I have the T61 described in my signature, and I recently did a clean install of XP using the clean install guide and a friend's XP OEM CD, and almost everything has gone smoothly.

One problem, however, is that the brightness at the logon screen is very low. This happens after bootup, coming back from a screensaver, or if I hit windows+L to lock the screen.

I can use the alt-key combo to adjust the brightness when at the logon screen, but the setting doesn't stick. The problem applies for all power schemes.

    Where is this setting controlled?

Power Manager, Global Power Settings, Enable Dynamic Brightness Control, Advanced.

Hope that does the trick! :)

If Power Manager is not installed, you may have to download and install it from Lenovo's website.
