I have been trying to decide on what laptop to get for quite a while now but after reading the review of the z61m, I am veyr interested in that machine. However, I would like to get thr brightest WXGA screen I can get because of my low vision. Searching through the TABook, I found the MaxBright screen which is 300 nits only available for now on the z60m. If I could get that screen in a z61m, that would be wonderful. But, I did find the 200 nits, 500.1 contrast screen in the ThinkPad® Z61m (9450) - TopSeller. But, how do I make sure that I get this screen? Or, should I wait and see if the MaxBright screen will appear soon? I see no way of customizing the current z61m model on Lenovo site. Thanks for your help again.

I found the 200 nit screen on the Z61m to be very bright. Not being a doctor, though I did play one on TV, I don't know if it will help your issue.

Thanks and again fantastic review of z61m. For me, most of all I am concerned with resolution. From my sig, you can see I have been using a 1680x1050 screen on 17 inch but if I go back to 15.4, I believe I would need to stay at 1280x800 toherwise I would have no problem with that screen even at 200 nits. Just don't know if I can handle that resolution on that size screen, only can see things at close distance and almost no peripheral vision.

    Thganks again.

If you buy from Lenovo you'll have 30 days to return it, but you'll pay more.

I think I would have to pay NY state taxes also if anyone can confirm that. Thanks.

If you are buying from IBM you will pay tax in every state that has a sales tax.
