    Hi all,

I have a T43 and lately I've been experiencing some brief halts for about 5 seconds.

By brief halts I mean half way when I'm surfing, all of sudden the mouse cursor stops, the hard disc drive light is not blinking, the entire system just freezes for 5 seconds. after a while it moves again.

it has happened about 5 times already for the past 2 days

Any ideas? Anyone experienced something similar before?

Try running PCDoctor or (if you have a Hitachi hard disk) Drive Fitness Test (available for download from http://www.hgst.com).

Also make sure that your antivirus and antispyware programs are current and functioning (a virus or spyware can also cause the behavior that you're describing).
