My first Thinkpad was delivered right into my waiting hands earlier today. It was delayed leaving Hong Kong because of mechanical problems with the plane. What a difficult wait watching this on the UPS tracking page. My wife's new Sony AR170 was delivered also, so guess who had to spend the afternoon setting that one up first. Now she's watching U2 videos on iTunes, so I get to play a bit.

Anyways, love the T60P!!! What a screen, you can read it from any angle. I was worried the UXGA would be too small, but it is just fine for me. The keyboard is amazing, not sure on the manufacturer, but there is a slight flex when I'm really typing much too hard. The trackpoint is great, but can't seem to get the push to select to work. It did work a couple times during initial setup, but now I can't seem to figure it out. The speakers are terrible, but I didn't expect them to be much for this laptop. Also, the screen will turn off after sitting idle for a while. The laptop is not in "sleep" but I can't revive the screen. What am I doing wrong? I definitely own a real piece of business equipment that I have a ton of confidence in and I have owned it less than 12 hours. I'm impressed big time. I know there were quite a few others who ordered this same model on the Labor Day Sale...what do you all think?

You can either close the lid and re-open it or you can simply press the power button to get it out of sleep mode.

    congrats.

That's odd, if it's not in sleep mode or hibernate, then you should be able to bring the screen back by moving the mouse or typing. If you go to power options (right click desktop --> properties --> screensaver --> power), does messing with any of those options anything help? You could probably do the same in the power manager too. I would try exploring those options first. If nothing there works, then perhaps look at the display properties --> settings?

Push to select with the trackpoint, I assume you mean clicking by actually pushing on the trackpoint? Is it enabled in the trackpoint properties? It's a bit tricky to use, I think, so even though I have it enabled, I don't ever use it.

congrats on your new thinkpad, I just got my t60p 2 days ago and all I can say is WOW, why did I waited so long to get a thinkpad? coming from a 17" this thing is feather light to me. got lucky and got the nmb keyboard and i like it even more than my desktop keyboard. love everything about it, the flexview screen is absolutely amazing, can't go back to a regular after seeing that. hope you enjoy yours.
