I bought a customer configured T510 about 6 months ago, and the first time i used it, certain keys on the right side felt broken - too loose, a different sound, not the right bounce. So I called customer service and had them send me another. The new keyboard has similar issues, but not as bad.

This is a brand new keyboard, on a brand new computer I just spent $2k on! I am a Lenovo fan largely, almost entirely, because of the "legendary" keyboard!

I'm wondering what i can do. The direction arrows (sorry, don't know what they're called), the backspace, the delete buttons and all "tinny" feeling/sounding, no bounce response. I've popped off the button tops, blew air, that didn't help (I was pretty desperate). I could ask for another new keyboard I guess.

    Please help! any advice welcome!

    Thanks all.

I would just ask for another keyboard, and further explain the situation to Lenovo. Maybe they will offer another solution to the problem ?

    Good luck !

Have you tried to tightening screws underside the laptop? On some Thinkpad laptop i found that the screw are not tightened properly.

And tightened the screw really add the integrity of the system substantially. Loosened screw can cause reliability problems, it is mentioned in Hardware Maintenance Manual on FRU Replacement Notices. I believe all type have this same section on their HMM docs.
