I've got an eBay T420 on the way. Can I take my T400 hard drive and put it in the new computer and will it boot?

    No?

    What'll happen . . . ?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Well, sorry for the dumb question. Life should be so easy . . .

Drivers for the new hardware won't be on my old hard drive and it appears Windows (Vista) might object to being run on a machine other than the one it was installed on. I suppose these things can be overcome but the saner thing to do is to use the new Win 7 Ultimate that is on the new machine, re-install my applications and move over that data I want to keep.

I guess I knew all that since I've been through it all before . . . I'm still looking forward to a flying car too.

Yes, it is time for a new OS. Windows 7 does run well on the T400 and T420. I have never tried Vista on a T420.

I wonder what flying car road rage is going to be like.
