I have a SL400 and just finished installing Vista and all that goes with it.
I ran ThinkVantage updates and it installed hundreds of things.

But Bluetooth I am unable to locate.

Can't see it in the Device Manager.
"Bluetooth" doesn't find anything in the start menu search.
The little bluetooth light is dim.

In device manager there is one Unknown Device. Could that be it?
    It's under Other devices.
I tried to let it search for a driver for what ever that is but nothing was found.

Also make sure Bluetooth is turned on. You will not see it in device manager and the installer might have problems if Bluetooth is turned off.

While I have never used nor know the SL400 I am guessing the Lenovo utilities are the same - so try pressing Fn+F5 and turning on the Bluetooth radio (also the hardware wireless radio switch should be on, again, I am assuming the SL400 has it as well).
