So I want to transfer some files between my thinkpad and my phone.
I turned bluetooth on for the phone and the computer. I try to get them to communicate with each other but nothing happens.
The real problem is when I try to open up the Bluetooth settings in my thinkpad, nothing happens. The Bluetooth device is on, it's just I can't open up the settings window to configure something.

try letting your phone find your computer instead...make sense?
-
Did both. They can't find each other.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the Thinkpad because the settings won't even open up, which means I can't turn Discovery On. -
in XP:
control panel -> network devices -> bluetooth devices, OPTIONS, click "turn discovery on" and "allow other devices to connect to this computer" -
That's the thing. I can't open the options/settings menu. Nothing pops up.
And I'm using Vista. -
I fixed the menu problem. It seems the bluetooth support service in the msconfig was disabled. I turned discovery on.
I still can't connect the phone though. Is the Bluetooth LED supposed to be blinking when searching? -
Are you using the IBM image? If you are use FN+F5 to open access connections and look to see that the bluetooth antenna is turned on.
