Never had Bluetooth before, but I'm in the market for a new mouse for my daughter's new T60. There are lots of horror stories on the web about connection drops, "Bluetooth stack" incompatibilities, and other problems with different mouse/laptop combos.

Can anyone give me a recommendation on a Bluetooth mouse that functions well with their ThinkPad?

I have a Kensington Pocket mouse. It worked well with my T42, but my R60 doesn't have bluetooth.

I have a Logitech V270. When I had XP it worked great, and now that I have Vista, its working just the same. The batteries last forever, I've only changed them twice in the 8 months I have had it. I love the wireless freedom it provides, but it sometimes drops the connection and refuses to do anything, but it only happens like once a week, and I'm on the computer a lot using the mouse. To fix it, I either have to power cycle the Bluetooth card or just let it sit for like 5 mins and use the touchpad or trackpoing. It also lags a little bit when it comes out of the power saving mode, but you eventually get used to it, and in fact it I don't even notice it. Overall, I'm very happy with it. It beats having a receiver sticking out of the side of the computer and having the possibility of it breaking when you move the laptop around.

Thanks, andy7079. So the weekly connection drop was present with XP as well as Vista? I'm usually partial to Logitech mice, and I was looking at the V270. Some folks seem to love it, while others really hate the wakeup delay, and a few report flaky connections.

But, this seems to be the case for all Bluetooth mice for which there's any discussion on the web that I've found. Some are attributing the connection problems to the Logitech software, and many advise not to install it. That's also been my practice for years, preferring to use the Windows default driver instead. Are you using the Logitech software?
