    Hi,
    Good evening!
I just finished doing a clean installation on my T61 with Vista Basic. I must say the "clean-install" guide is great and detail.
However, no matter what I do, I can't get my Bluetooth to turn on and to install. T61 comes with Bluetooth, because the Bluetooth icon sits next to the Wi-fi icon on the bottom of the screen.
Second, before the clean installation, the screen used to display the speaker volume on screen when I pressed the volume-up bottom or the volume-down bottom. After the clean-installation, the screen no longer shows the speaker volume changes.
    Please help! Thanks! :)

I think you need to install the hotkey utility.

Make sure you installed the hotkey and system interface drivers. Then go back a re-read the tips for installing bluetooth in the guide (in step 2).

Please share your positive experience with the guide in the guide's thread.

bluetooth is not standard on the thinkpad, its a 30 dollar option. Make sure you have it installed before you go crazy. You also need access connections to use lenovo's wireless manager, which includes BT

You also have the option of using Vista's built-in wireless management (instead of using lenovo's wireless manager) for bluetooth. I have bluetooth and I don't have access connections installed.

In the Vista application called Network and Sharing Center one can manage all networks wireless and wired. The application is quite intuitive, and does what it is intended for quite well. This really eliminates the need for the Lenovo Application.

thanks aadadams; I also installed the interface driver and my OSD works now for both brightness and volume control, I made the mistake of only installing hot key driver.

regarding the network and sharing center, it is very nice indeed. I did not even bother installing lenovo's access center

Same here. No need for the extra software when Vista does it well natively.

    HI,
Thanks for all your help! I went back to re-do clean install again. This time it works. I guess I did something wrong on the 1st time. On the 2nd time, I was able to use Fn + F5 to turn the Bluetooth on first, then I did the driver installation.
Thanks for your help! Now my T61 runs better than before! Thanks for your Great guide!!! :) :) :)
