I have Vista Business 64-bit installed on my X61s. Ever since the format, I can no longer boot into Rescue and Recovery from the blue ThinkVantage button. I have R&R 4.0 64-bit installed, however.

    I tried this fix:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-54483

but it prompted a window saying this OS is not supported. Check if you have x86 or x64 installed. I'm assuming R&R is not compatible with Vista x64. I didn't have any problems booting into R&R when I had Vista Basic x86 installed.

Have you made a backup to the HD yet since you installed the 64bit RnR? During my clean installs, most of the time the recovery section wont work until I make my first backup. If you already did then it might very well be a 64-bit incompatibility with the software.
