    Well guys,

My ThinkVantage button stopped working after I updated the BIOS or uninstalled something (I'm not sure which). Actually the ThinkVantage Productivity Center won't even open lol. But I don't really use it and I only use Access Connections and Power Manager 2 at the moment. So I was just wondering if anyone else's ThinkVantage button doesn't function, and if it's important to have? Can I assign a different task to it like hibernate or something?

I'll also post another issue up here as well rather than creating a new thread.

What is the different between Intel MyWiFi Utility, Access Connections, and the Windows Wireless? I have all three and I fear that they may interrupt each other. I only connect to my home router, school WiFi, and possible a few others when I'm on the road (rare). Actually last night my WiFi connection was going crazy and then I restarted my computer, but it just shut down completely. I pressed the power button multiple times and it wouldn't turn on until I removed the AC and reinserted the battery (probably a bigger problem than I imagine lol).

Edit: And thanks for the reply ZaZ

I have absolutely no use for the ThinkVantage button outside of accessing the BIOS when I boot the system. As for the wireless management software, some do some things better than other, but for your needs, you don’t need the bloat—just use what’s built into Vista.

Did you know the Thinkvantage button can be configured on Windows to launch a program of your liking?

T30power, could you please explain how to do that?

And how would I turn on Bluetooth without Access Connections.

Lastly, any comments on my reboot problem? Two times my T400 did not reboot when restarting, it just shutdown completely. And to turn it back on I have had to remove the AC cord and take out and reinsert the battery. Before I left home it turned on fine though (plugged in and battery in). I will have to try again when I get back home.

You do not need Access Connections to turn Bluetooth on or off - you can press Fn+F5 to access the wireless on/off screen, which I believe is a part of Power Manager.

You can remove Access Connections and the Intel MyWiFi tools except for the Intel WiFi 5x00 drivers, which are required for the card's operation. If you do not need the extra features of Access Connections, I suggest that you do so since Access Connections is kind of slow and bloated.
