After 4 days stable running, a blue screen finally comes. System says "crashed dump".....

Have a look at the clean install and memtest86+ links in my sig. It is what most people end up having to do.
-
I didn't change the OS. It is still the pre-installed Vista biz 64.
I will have a detail look on your memtest86+ this weekend -
Thanks, stallen

Stallen, another question for you.
my hard drive is read very frequently. Is it normal? Everytime when I turn on the computer, the hard drive is in busy status for about 5 mins.
Please advice. -
I didn't think you changed the OS. Your pre-installed OS is most likely the cause of your problem. It's full of bloatware. Most any advanced user will advise you that you will get the best performance out of a new desktop or laptop by doing a clean install.
-
If it continues after a clean install then you might have a virus scanner doing it's thing or something like that. It could also be Vista's superfetch working. -
Thank you very much Stallen.
After I have a recovery cd, I will do the clean install -
My only concern is.....Hope this is not caused by hardware problem.....
For software problems, I'd rather search help from you guys, comparing to deal with Lenovo -

You don't have to do a clean install to remove ThinkVantage software, it can be uninstalled from control panel.
It is normal for the drive to show increased activity immediately after the boot, it spins and it's designed to do just that. System services and startup items all load at that time.
Do you have a turbo mem? There may be a fix for the blue screen that fresh install cannot deliver, especially if it's a driver issue. I know a lot of people like to do a clean install right of the bet but it does not necessarily solve problems. I had to deal with blue screens myself and had I known the solution back than a fresh install would not have been necessary. -

Since you have an intel turbo mem you should try this first:
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/cs-025783.htm
or try the new driver here:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...4&OSFullName=Windows%20Vista* 32&lang=eng
Check first if this is the same version as the one you just installed. -
I have installed second one last night. Do I need still the first one? The second one goes with the Matrix Storage Manager
-
OK...Here how the story goes....
I experienced the third Blue Screen today and called Tech Support.
After running a full test, PC-Doctor says my SMBOIS failed test. Also one of total three USB ports always show "unknown" and grey color, even I plugged in a USB device.
Tomorrow Lenovo will send me a box, Hopefully I will have it returned by next week.......
SUCKS -
"Note: Before installing this application or requesting technical support from Intel, it is suggested that you first contact your system manufacturer. They may provide software which is specifically configured for your system."
You should uninstall the Turbo memory driver and Matrix storage manager driver. Then re-install the Turbo memory driver from Lenovo Support and Downloads page. Now you are going to question Why the Matrix Storage Manger driver? The Turbo memory driver includes BOTH Turbo Memory AND Matrix Storage Manager driver in one download driver package.
Seriously, if you would just do a clean install following the link in my sig I'm quite certain your system will no longer have any blue screens. But you would need to actually follow the guide to the letter. If that doesn't work you still have the option of sending it in. Regardless of what you do... I'm done here. I tried. -
I updated all new drivers, but still no use.
And what exactly SMBOIS is? the only failure is caused by it
Blue Screen finally comes
