I got my R61 a few weeks ago, and tonight was actually the first time I attempted to use the blu-ray rom. I opened the WinDVD to watch a movie (regular DVD) and noticed it didnt show up. Then when I clicked on my computer, the only drive listed is my hard drive.
I went into device manager in my control panel, and the icon for the drive shows the cd-rom picture with a small exclamation (!) next to it. The properties for it say:
It is a Mat$hita BD-MLT UJ-220 ATA device. I couldnt find a driver on the Lenovo site.
Does anyone else have a blu-ray burner on their laptop? Any hints or suggestions to get it to show up and be usable?
thanks for the help!

Matshiba? Bad news bears.
I would try just right clicking to uninstall the drivers, and rebooting, see if windows will reinstall them for you. Otherwise, time to talk about your warranty. -
Well, it looks like Mat$hita ($ since the forum blocks curse word in middle) has had a few issues on a couple different oem machines after searching the web. I've spent hours trying to google a driver for it with no luck.
The uninstall/reboot didnt help and I can't seem to find a driver anywhere on the computer. I ran the Thinkvantage PC Doctor on it and the drive works fine there, recognizes a disc and opens/closes.
I ended up speaking with Lenovo Tech support last night and they were no help. The CSR told me that the only thing remotely related was an update to WinDVD, nothing related to an actual driver to the Blu-Ray drive. So, they're sending me a box in the mail for them to check out the laptop.
I hope they can fix this. One of the sole reasons I bought the R61 was because the Blu-Ray drive was a cheap upgrade through EPP prices. I've loved the laptop, but it's going to be extremely unnerving if they can't get my blu-ray drive to work so I can watch the movies on tv through it.
