T60. Suddenly out of the blue my # 5 key is very hard to push, and spongy. It seems certain there is some type of debri under it. So far I haven't been able to get it out, with air stream, holding PC upside and mildly shaking (turned off of course).

One thing I haven't done is get a compressed air bottle with the little extension tube. If that doesn't work, any suggestions?

Have you tried removing the key and seeing what's under it?

well, yes I did, and in fact I just came back to report "nevermind", but you beat me to it. I didn't realize how easy it is to remove a key and put it back, until I just tried. There was a little chunk of something under the key (not really sure what it was, but was really stuck, and really hard, so I would have never got it out without removing the key).

The best tool to remove lenovo keys is a baby or a small kid.

My 10 months old son can just crawl near to my wife lenovo, swept his hand over the keyboard and out come 3 to 4 keys. sometimes the hinges (the plastic grey ones..look carefully) would come out too.

He does it everytime, seem like fun activity to him.

training him to remove the right key is tough though

I've avoided that one so far, but I see the older ones eyeing my laptop closely, waiten for the right moment to pounce (and hopefully not destroy).

Apparently the desktop we got em 2 years ago is completely lame now. It's so yesterday.

IBM quality will be tested soon.

Just curious... how do you remove one key? I don't want to break anything.

From what I just did, you lift it from the bottom of the key, not the top. But kind of shimmy it off. It should pop off angled.
