Blargh, why aren't my wireless adapter power settings saving?

Can someone please tell me what the bloody hell is up with my laptop? So my LAN card wasn't connecting well (Atheros LAN card ftl), so upon the recommendations of a fellow user on the Lenovo boards, I went to my power plan settings and set my Wireless Adapter settings from "Maximum Power Saving" to "Maximum Performance". Voila, it works flawlessly.

Problem now? My power plan settings won't keep. When it comes back from sleep, they return back to "Maximum Power Saving". The kicker: I change it back to "Maximum Performance" to connect back online, and the moment it tries to connect online, the settings mysteriously switch back to the Power Saving option. I just sat here for ten minutes trying to get online because of this very reason.

Looking online, this is apparently a pretty common problem, but that's the only thing I've found out. No one seems to know how to solve this problem.

I have a fairly new R61i with Windows Vista and, as previously mentioned, an Atheros LAN card.

This is making me pull out my hair. Someone help please.
