Hi Exterts,
I bought a Thinkpad T61 with vista. As most of people hate that, I'm also no exception. I loaded XP and it was working fine. But suddenly from the past 4 days I'm getting a blinking black screen at the start of the program.
Lets say I'm browsing and I kept the laptop idle for 15 min. Then when I come back and touch the trackpad or mouse , the screen blinks for 4 or 5 times and then after that it will function normally with out any errors.
I don't know what is the problem and why I'm getting that.
Suggestion from the experts is needed in this hour of need.
Thanks,
Satish.

This sounds like it is a Vista power setting problem. Have you set it to a special sleep mode kind of setting?

gary hendricks.. he have installed XP=)
satishdsc.. press FN+F3, to get the powermanager up ( i do have a swedish version so bear with me on my bad translation of the program ;D) press settings in the powermanager where u can choose between different powermodes. in settings, click on the middle tab, called global energysavingsettings. there u shall find something called dynamic setting of screenbrightness. i turned that off. i also configured my own powerscheme and disabled the "reduce the monitors updatefrequence".
i hope that helps=) it fixed the problem for me atleast
