Those of you who have the Quadro FX 570M and Bioshock is working good for you, will you please share what resolution you are running at?

It is looking like perhaps the crashes might be caused by running in 1024x768 which is the resolution I was running..

If I run other 3D graphics programs in 1024x768 they crash too... but when I ran the 3D graphics test in a widescreen resolution it didn't crash. I am thinking the same might work for Bioshock... I am testing it now... it takes time though because I have to play it for a while and see if it crashes.

EDIT: Ignore everything I just said! The game just crashed on me. :(

I just ran the BurnIn Test you (Hellbore) described on the Thinkpads.com Thread for a good ten minutes and there were no crashes or errors with only 1 stick of RAM installed.

What resolution did you run it in?

If you didn't already, could you try running it in 1024x768x32 fullscreen?

This is the one that produces crashes most often for me.

Other resolution modes sometimes don't even crash for me.

I'd appreciate if you could try it in this mode... I should have included that in my original post...

I use modded drivers from Laptopvideo2go to run Bioshock. It runs in playable fps at 1024x786.

What are your system specs?? Do you have the quadro FX 570M? How much RAM do you have, and in what configuration (2 sticks, 1 stick, etc)?

It would seem the problems I have been having are limited only to the Quadro FX 570M, and running more than 2 gigs of RAM, in 2 sticks.

Crap So currently you can only run one stick of ram? I have 2 2gig sticks and mine locks in COD4. I am going to send it in for replacement. Question does running 2 sticks of memory also hinder performance in any way? Mine seems slow. I have T61P 2.2 ghz with FX570M 256 meg

Hello everyone! I may be able to provide a little information.

When I first got my T61p (2.0 GHz T7300, 2x1GB RAM, 256MB FX570M), it had problems running 3D games (even 3DMark). The computer would immediately shutdown in the middle of these applications. I tried different graphics drivers, and I even tried using Windows XP. The only way to stop the crashes were to remove one stick of memory. I then sent in my T61p for repairs. The slip said they replaced the motherboard. Afterwards, I never had the shut-down problem again.

However, I'm still having problems with some games. Bioshock is one of them. Regardless of the graphics setting (I tried changing DX9 and DX10), after about 20 minutes of play, I would get the "nvlddmkm" driver crash. I would then have to manually terminate the program. Curiously, when I restart Bioshock, all of the settings go back to default, including graphics settings and even keyboard settings. Game saves are maintained though. Anyhow, I've tried multiple drivers from LaptopVideo2Go, including 169.17, 169.21, 169.25, and 169.28.

This problem also showed up in Call of Duty 4, although I managed to stop it by changing the driver to 169.21. Curious.
