I have a 128 GB mSATA drive with the factory image installed via Lenovo system restore. I left the HDD in place intended to use it as a combination backup device and data drive. When I tried to use Windows 7 utility to backup the SSD (three primary partitions) to the HDD the utility only sees the Q: (Lenovo restore partition) drive, because somehow the D: (HDD) is included as a system drive but the Q is not. At any rate, what I'd like to do is move Q to the HDD and make it possible to use the HDD for backups of the SSD. Looking for suggestions on the quickest route(s) to achieve this...

Hmm. I would probably backup with R&R on DVDs (or usb) and then install the msata (remove your stock platter) and install the OS. Then when that is done, reinstall your platter drive and format it for storage.

I'd like to avoid reinstalling the OS... as what may not have been clear in my original post is that the rig is completely configured for my work with all my software and etc. Also of note, R&R won't install on the computer now, because the partition was downsized slightly when I moved the OS from the stock HDD to the SSD using Acronis. If there isn't a way to do it, I'll back the computer up to an external drive, but if at all possible I'd like to have the backup stored internally on this computer.
