    I have 160GB disk and recently bought 64GB SSD, i wish to migrate the OSes into the new disk and convert the 160GB as storage (into the bay)

    whats the best way without the need to reinstall everything from scratch ?

    Clone the system partition using an external SATA enclosure (for the SSD) using Acronis or Selfimage. Then swap the SSD into your ThinkPad. That should do the job quickly and easily.

    If it's the same sized backup Vista will do well.
