    Afternoon folks,

just got myself an x61s and was curious of the best way to go about getting rid of vista home basic (bleh) and installing XP is going to be?

Assume I have an external cd drive and want to keep thinkvantage stuff (for now). What do I need to back up, how do I get rid of any partitions I cant see, what if I want to some day go back to vista (I didnt get ANY CDs from Lenovo).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, if I missed a previous post on this, really sorry, please point me in the right direction if I have.

    Have a great day folks.

Call Lenovo and get the Windows XP Recovery CD. It's certainly the quickest and easiest. Cost you $45 and 3 days time for delivery.

Sadly I leave the country in less time and would rather not spend $45 when I already have the software - otherwise I would have just paid them to factory install it :)

any other way you can think of? Thanks
