    If I said "IBM SSKII", do I get hit with the banstick? ;)

    Really though, of the keyboards that include a real TrackPoint, my absolute favorite is the IBM SSK II. It's a rubber dome, but it's a pretty darn good one, and the proper TrackPoint makes up for it.

    And failing that, I actually prefer the new external ThinkPad keyboard to the old one. No touchpad, and a bit better internal bracing (although still worse than in a T series...)

    I went 40K9408 -> 55Y9053 REV00 -> 55Y9053 REV01. I like the last one most out of the 3. Not sure what's the difference between 55Y9003 and 55Y9053.

    To have the keyboard layout when behind the desk exactly the same as when mobile, all that with normal Home/End/PgUp/PgDn block and trackpoint, is fantastic. At least was, until the recent layout 'improvement'.

    The only annoyance is the Forward/Back keys which, unlike the ones on the laptop itself, cannot be easily remapped to do nothing (they simulate multiple keypresses Alt+arrows, rather than single Back/Forward key scancodes the laptop keyboard does). Accidentally pressing 'Back' in various web forms, instead of the left arrow and losing all input, is extremely annoying.

    pop off the keys, rip out the rubber lifters, and press the keys back down.   this will physically disable the action.   they'll sit flat against the bottom and be out of the way yet still look somewhat normal.

    the process can be reversed if absolutely needed.
