Truth be told I was going to buy one of these this week.

I like a 15.6 Inch laptop but have no need for a numpad and I hate the squished keys that are necessary to accomidate the numpad.

Anyway, I was looking to buy the 410p with upgraded resolution which is going for $850 with the discount coupon from the Lenovo US site.

That's $450 off the original price which seems like an awesome deal.

Problem is I'm not currently in the US and therefore if I do buy it and get a friend to ship it to me, it would be very difficult to refund it or send it back if it has any problems.

So my question is, is this type of discount a regular occurance from Lenovo ? Would I be able to see a deal like this near, lets say Christmas?

TL;DR. Does Lenovo offer a lot of massive deals?

The sales are permanent. They are marketing gimmicks. The Y410P *is* a 850$ laptop.

However don't let that fool you, its probably the best (in terms of bang for buck) laptops you'll find in that price range.

back to school is typically the best time to buy a laptop. I bought mine last night for 819 after student discounts through my university. Around 868 after taxes.

Check out the Barnes and Noble Lenovo store; you can get a few different specs for a bit under 849. The non ssd spec you're talking about is 40 less.

Also, yeah, the prices are good, but the non-discounted prices would be ridiculous.
