    Best solution for the CPU whine?

    I experienced the dreaded CPU whine for the first time this week, even though I had run it on battery without a problem before. What is the best solution that does not affect battery life? Is it disabling the CPU management in the BIOS, the RMchk utility, the usb solution, or something else? Please let me know, I can't stand the noise!
