I am considering buying the T61p here in the UK, but I'm finding it difficult to find a reasonable price to pay for one of these notebooks. So if you have any suggestions on to where to order one with the cheapest price, you are very wellcome to post here.

The most reasonable price so far I have found from www.laptopsdirect.co.uk
for £1,645.63 with the following spec:

    Screen: 15.4-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) TFT Display,175 NIT, 500:1 Contrast
    Processor: 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (4MB L2 Cache,800MHz FSB)
Hard Drive: 100 GB hard drive (Seagate 7200.1 7200RPM)
    Memory: 2GB x 1 RAM (PC5300, 667 MHz, DDR2 SDRAM) 4GB max memory
Optical Drive: DVD+-R Double layer / DVD+-RW Drive
Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB)

    Cheers,

Oh yeah! I did the conversion in head the other way around, as if the USD was stronger. Oops.

Yeah, that's expensive compared to the US.

From the US perspective i wouldnt call it exactly 'great', as thats about $3200 ...

But from the european point of view ... you probably wont find it much cheaper. I think that model is one of the 'top seller' promotions, so basically the cheapest it gets.
The same model with german localization costs about €2260 (approx. $3050) upwards here.

Ye, that's why I bought mine from HK.

The price difference can easily provide me the flight for the round trip.

I just bought mine from here:
    Technoworld
It was a bit cheaper last week, can't fault their service and delivery - ordered 4pm Friday, arrived 9am Saturday.
