    The search forum feature is totally broken for me.

    What do people use for their 2nd hard drive caddy for the W520/W530?

    Has anyone compared the newmode.us one with this one on fleabay?

    They both appear to be able to handle 12.7mm drives...but one is less than half the price of the other... :D
    Looks like the fleabay one is missing a drive activity light.

    I have used FRU 43N3429 for years now with my W510, W520, T420s and W530 without issue. Usually to host my 750GB 2.5 inch drive with it's virtual machines for VMWare Workstation and other large files. With Thunderbolt coming on my new T430s, it may see less use if I can find a cheap TB enclosure.

    I haven't seen any that had a drive activity light. That's not to say they don't exist. Do you have a FRU for that model?

    I use Ultrabay SATA 2nd Hdd Lenovo ThinkPad T420 T520 12.7mm | eBay . It does have blue HDD activity light, although I'd prefer it did not.

    There isn't really much to these devices, if it fits - it works. The original 9.5mm Lenovo part, which I also have, works just as well, but requires a piece of foam attached to align properly and close the gap.

    It works with W520; W530 Ultrabay is the same.
