I recently bought an R61 and I want a nice sleeve case that provides good protection but also fits the laptop as snugly as possible. I'm looking for something with a very low profile. I currently have the 6 cell battery in it which sticks out, but I'm going to buy an extra 4 cell too (so I would like one that fits snugly with the 4 cell, doesn't necessarily have to fit the 6).

I've shopped for the same thing for my 14.1" widescreen R61 with the 6-cell battery. Tried a 14" Belkin--too tight IMO, as it doesn't quite fit the extended battery; the 15" version might fit but I haven't brought my R61 into a store to see for sure. The CaseLogic sleeve is thin but way too big--Office Depot seems to only stock one for 15" widescreens, so I have no idea about any 14" version. I ended up finding a sleeve, with small carry handles, marketed by JanSport in my university's bookstore, which isn't on JanSport's web page and it fits very well. Definitely minimalist.

I've come to the conclusion that a sleeve designed for a 15" standard (not widescreen) should fit a 14" widescreen w/6-cell battery like a glove.

    Good luck.

Yes it should fit fine. Good padding too, IIRC. Got mine from Amazon.

I've started looking too. Don't know what your price range is, but the Waterfield bags have gotten some good reviews. http://www.sfbags.com/

I got one of these for my T61p. Extremely snug and perfect fit. They have the little pull-strap on the bottom for a good reason!

Shinza Zeroshock III. Fits snug on 6 cell but offers great protection. Wouldnt trade it for the anything.

Ebags just seem to be a retailer, doesnt even seem that cheap either (they only have a few sleeves). I wish someone just made a nice flat black zip leather one.....
