Any opinion on which SSD to add? Our machine has a 1TB M 2.2 SSD (2280) in one slot. Thinking of adding a Samsung 970 Pro 1TB to the 2nd slot as well.

Any opinions/dos and don'ts greatly appreciated

I have a 90GB OCZ Agility III SSD purchased in 2011 in the Mac that I'm typing this reply on and it seems just as peppy as the top tier SSD I was talked into buying for my main desktop a few years back. The benefit of a SSD is the latency and it's very low for all SSDs, regardless of manufacturer or type. I, personally, wouldn't pay more for a name brand. Good Luck.
