While ordering the X200, there are 2 mobile broadband options:

I want to use Vodaphone Australia, but be able to change broadband carriers. Which is the most stable, reliable option?

    1. Ericsson F3507g None US WWAN: Integrated 3G Mobile Broadband card for Vodafone.

    ...or...

    2. Integrated Basic Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS - FirmwareR1D06): Integrated 3G Mobile Broadband card for carriers other than Vodafone.
(....I am guessing this is also the F3507g card ...?...)

Also what is the difference between these card options?

    Thankyou Erik :)

I was only confused because ThinkWiki mentions that "FirmwareR1D06" (from option 2) is the latest firmwear for the Ericsson F3507g card, the same card used in option 1:

Ericsson F3507g Mobile Broadband Module - ThinkWiki

There seems to be no other mention of "firmwearR1D06" for any other card on google.

I guess if there are connection problems I can come back to Lenovo with my warranty.

    Lenovo - Customize - ThinkPad X200 laptop - Special Offer - Components

Does this mean they are the same cards with different firmwear, option 1 with an older firmwear than option 2?

... or the F3507g card has been "tuned up" for vodaphone in option 1 ...

the first card you listed is unlocked.   AT&T and Vodafone are completely separate companies so this card is left unlocked so it can be used with either one.   i recently sold one of these cards and know first-hand that it was unlocked.

the second card you listed might be an F3507g but it's almost certainly locked.   i have no experience with the second card to know its details.

the driver linked is for the first card.

    Very cool!

    Will be buying tomorrow :)

... quick question, is it ever possible to upgrade the battery size different to the lenovo shopping cart (9 cell, instead of the 4 or 6 cell) which is outside of the options listed on the lenovo clearance page, over the phone?
