I had an older Apple airport wireless g router that was giving me all kinds of heartache and after researching I bought a Belkin n1 at BB for $99, same price at Crapusa, and its rock solid with the intel 4965 agn with the latest intel (not lenovo) driver at 130mbps.
I dumped the access connection and let windows mange the network.
Just a heads up if you were/are having problems.

Awesome! Thanks so much for this post. I have the older pre-N Belkin router, which I love, but doesn't work w/ the newer draft-N standard that's in my T61. Now that I know the N1 works well w/ the intel 4965 AGN, I'm not afraid to do the upgrade. Thanks again!

Really? That definitely is disheartening to hear. Do you have another recommendation? I was only going w/ this router b/c I have their older version (the pre-n, not the draft-n), which worked great. If I decide to go for it, I'll make sure to buy it in a store instead of online, that way I'll at least have the option of returning it if there are any problems. Thanks for the input.

I just got a linksys dual-band draft-n with the media server built in (well, at least USB capable). While expensive, I was having a lot of trouble with random lockups and dropped connections with my Belkin pre-N router so I decided to spend the money to get something that would offer a lot of flexibility and last a while. The throughput on this router is simply amazing. The firmware is solid and there is a lot of control (at least, much more vs. the belkin I had) over access and connections. It may not be an option for everyone, but it's worked great for me. I had actually evaluated the comparable Belking product, but found you couldn't use 802.11n on both bands on that router.
