Is there no built in software to take pictures/videos of myself?

Even friend's consumer level HP could do this. I can bring up the webcam with Fn+F6, but that's it...

If this is the case, can people please provide suggestions for software that will do this? I'm looking for something like the Photobooth app on Macbooks...

Not familiar with the Mac scene. However, Picasa has a very easy to use feature that lets you take video recordings and snapshots with your webcam.

Wow, thanks. Never knew Picasa had this functionality. Seems like Google has a hand in everything these days. However, I' m also looking for something that has video effects.

I'll also try this out. However, I'm concerned with slowing down my system. If I don't like it and uninstall it, I've heard it will still leave traces that will accumulate and slow down the computer. Is this true? If so, is there a way to get around it?
